Joseph Manero and Sons, Inc. was officially established in December 1986; however, the company's origins date back much further. In 1948, Anthony Manero, our grandfather, bought a stone quarry in Glenside at 424 Willow Grove Avenue and together with his four sons, A. Manero & Sons was founded.
Initially, their main focus was on quarrying and delivering stone, mainly for the post-war housing expansion. During this era, homes were predominantly constructed with stone facades and foundations. A. Manero & Sons not only sourced and supplied stone but also worked as masonry contractors, installing stone. Their early projects can be found in Northeast Philadelphia, Roxboro, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties.
By the late 1950s, A. Manero & Sons shifted their attention from mass housing projects to private residential masonry work while continuing to run the stone quarry. Apart from supplying stone for residential purposes, they also supplied stone to steel mills to line their furnaces, as the mills were still in operation at that time.
Today, Joseph Manero & Sons, Inc. carries on the tradition of providing unmatched masonry services that have been maintained for three generations.
